Day 1: Marrakech - Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah - Agdez - Zagora Desert
Early in the morning (about 08:00), embark on a private 2-Day Desert Tour From Marrakech to Zagora through the Tizi Ntichka pass in the Atlas Mountains ( 2260 m. alt ). We pass many Berber communities en route. Several pauses will be made along the journey for you to appreciate the scenery, snap photographs, or just drink a cup of coffee, mint tea, or use the restroom and stretch your legs. Enjoy a quick tour to the Ait Ben Haddou Village, a UNESCO world heritage site known for its Kasbah and walled hamlet, which was previously utilized as the setting for numerous renowned Hollywood epics. Following some free time, the village’s Kasbah will be explored by a local guide. After lunch, which will be served either at the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah or in Ouarzazate, you will travel via the Anti Atlas Mountains, the town of Agdez, a well-known crossing for convoys in the past, and the Draa Valley with its hundreds of thousands of palm tree species. The Draa Valley is home to one of the most extensive palm plantations in Morocco. We will arrive in Zagora in the late afternoon and prepare for a camel transport over the sand dunes and a stunning sunset before returning to your Zagora Luxury Desert Camp. Take advantage of its offerings, and a magical night under the stars awaits you.
Day 2: Zagora Desert - Ouarzazate - Atlas Mountains - Marrakech
The second day of a 2-Day Desert Tour From Marrakech to Zagora. If you wake early enough to see the breathtaking dawn, you will be rewarded with a stunning display of shadows on the sand dunes. Following a traditional Moroccan breakfast, travel to Ouarzazate to explore Taourirt Kasbah before a leisurely lunch. The return to Marrakesh is situated along the main route, which traverses a number of Berber communities along a river that through the highlands. Occasionally you descend into river valleys dotted with oleander and fruit trees. Olives, walnuts, pomegranates, apples, pears, and quinces are abundant in the gardens. Women and children of the Berber culture care for goats and sheep and climb even the highest mountains in search of forage and fuel. We arrive in the early evening in Marrakech.
