Marrakech to Essaouira day trip

Itinerary:

At 8:00 a.m., your personalized Marrakech to Essaouira day trip will start at your hotel or riad. As we go from Marrakech to the coast, we pass through picturesque valleys with orange groves, ancient olive trees, and lively farms. After a brief ride, we stop at Chichaoua to enjoy coffee or a snack at Café Afoulki.

As you approach the quiet and picturesque city of Essaouira, you can feel the tension of Marrakech slowly fading away. You will immediately discover that the name of this ancient fortification on Africa’s western Atlantic coast is based from the Berber word for “wall.” This resort attracts visitors from all over the world due to its great climate and unique cultural history.

As soon as you’ve had a chance to refresh, we’ll continue ahead and soon encounter the first Argan trees. The exceptional trees are widely coveted for their medicinal, cosmetic, and edible properties. The tree from the Tertiary period is now endangered, but UNESCO has intervened to protect it since it has adapted so well to the dry, desert environment of southern Morocco.

You’ve spent the morning traveling and have finally arrived at Essaouira, where you’ll visit the city’s historic district and ponder times past. Porto was renamed by the Portuguese and became one of their principal ports in the 16th century; hence, the city’s streets have a distinctively Portuguese feel. You may ride a camel on the beach if you’d like, and dine on seafood harvested that same day at local restaurants.

After a long day of sightseeing, we’ll drive you back to your hotel in comfort which marks the end of our Marrakech to Essaouira day trip.
